Derek Handler joins Autside as "Community Ambassador of Play"

Autside is elated to announce Derek Handler has joined the Autside team in the role of Community Ambassador of Play.

For over 20 years Derek has been a positive fixture in North Texas as his business, Fitness for Kids, offers play programming for individuals and groups with Autism / Special Needs. Uniquely gifted with the ability to connect, communicate and inspire Derek truly embodies the Autside mantra, “The Power of Play”. 

Derek will assist Autside with outreach, communication and facilitation of Autism community relationships, education and events. 

Derek Handler is also Director of Student Services / Fitness at an accredited private school in North Dallas that specializes in a therapeutic and comprehensive teaching approach for students with academic, social, emotional and behavioral differences. 

When Derek isn’t doing such incredible work with kids in the special needs community, he likes spending time with his wife and two boys, being with friends, and playing the occasional round of golf.
